You can make rosehip syrup which has a lovely citrusy flavour. I stop deadheading my roses around July because I think they look so beautiful in autumn and provide fabulous contrast colour against the rose leaves. Very good for colourwork with redcurrant, it's a deep orange, definitely not red.
