Color

Taking a small colour theory set and teaming it with the foil of a natural grey, you can work through each colour as it shifts to its opposite on the colour wheel. First you'll work with the neutral grey as the main colour and two contrasting colours, and then you'll knit the complement, with the grey becoming the contrast. Enjoy watching blue change to yellow, purple to green.

Or work the Full Monty! You'll be working each colour's complements / opposites in triangle on every square. Quite fascinating!

Or work a triangle with just a small colour theory

Each of the 45 colours in colour theory are hand dyed using the same three dyes. The relationship between them is strong, and small increments have a big impact over the course of the triangle.

This is a versatile shape: you could use the rectangle as a scarf, a baby blanket or a small throw. The yarn is 100% pure grade A cashmere, and intensely warm. It's like having a hot water bottle wrapped around you.

The pattern is simple: each square is worked on its own and stitches are either picked up or cast on. You can choose whether to work the smaller square to have three colours per square, or keep it simple with just a border highlighting the complement colour.

Techniques used are garter stitch, decreases (K2TOG / SSK), picking up stitches and casting on.

In the kit you will get:

- a pdf of the pattern which includes yarn maps, written instructions and clear colour schematics

and

-a small colour theory set which also includes a swatch ball to test gauge and 100g of a neutral cashmere heavy lace weight yarn .(total amount of cashmere in the kit for the small colour theory plus neutral colour is 215g / 1670m)

or

- a large colour theory including a swatch ball. (The total amount of cashmere in the kit for the large colour theory is 230g / 1840m.

or

- a small colour theory including swatch ball for the triangular scarf. (The total for the set is 115g / 920m.)
